Kenny is the Head of Litigation, Arbitration and Dispute Resolution. He is also actively involved in corporate and advisory work. He presently oversees the firm’s representative office in Shanghai, China.

He received a NUS (Registrar) Scholarship and Award from the National University of Singapore. He graduated with an LLB (Honours, 2nd Upper) from the National University of Singapore in 1991. He was placed among the top 10 during his Postgraduate Practical Law Course (PLC).

He was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of Singapore in 1992, and was qualified to be admitted in Hong Kong.

Kenny’s principal areas of practice are in litigation, arbitration and dispute resolution (including commercial, general and construction matters). He has advised on and provided services over a wide range of contentious and non-contentious work, including the following areas of law: Agency, Arbitration, Banking and Finance, Company and Corporate, Competition, Conflicts, Construction, Contracts, Employment, Injunctions, Insolvency, Insurance, Intellectual Property, International Trade, Moneylending, Negligence, Partnership, Privacy, Professional Discipline, Property and Real Estate, Sale of Goods, Securities, Shipping and Maritime, Tenancy, Tort, and Trust.

He has also done advisory, transactional and cross-border work relating to commercial contracts, projects, international trade, commodities, banking, corporate and finance, conveyancing and real estate, and has advised on claims of varied nature.

Kenny is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb), and a Fellow of the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators (SIArb). He is also a Committee Member of the Singapore Chamber of Maritime Arbitration (SCMA).

He sits on the Panel of Arbitrators of Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC); Singapore Institute of Arbitrators (SIArb); Singapore Chamber of Maritime Arbitration (SCMA); Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC); China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC); Shanghai International Arbitration Centre (SHIAC); China Maritime Arbitration Commission (CMAC); Korean Commercial Arbitration Board (KCAB); Japan Commercial Arbitration Association (JCAA); Kuala Lumpur Regional Centre for Arbitration (KLRCA); Kigali International Arbitration Centre (KIAC); and Law Society Arbitration Scheme (LSAS).

He is an accredited Adjudicator with Kuala Lumpur Regional Centre for Arbitration (KLRCA). He is also an Associate Mediator with Singapore Mediation Centre (SMC), and Law Society Mediation Scheme (LSMS).

Kenny has represented clients in hearings before the Court of Appeal, High Court and State Courts, arbitral tribunals, Strata Titles Board, mediations, conciliations, settlement conferences and negotiations.

He has sat as Arbitrator or acted as Counsel in various institutional and ad-hoc arbitration matters, involving international or domestic arbitration regimes.

He was also a member of the Inquiry Panel (appointed under the Legal Profession Act), and has sat as Chairman of Review Committees and Inquiry Committee hearings.

He has presented at legal seminars in Singapore and China, in both English and Mandarin.

He is fluent in English, Mandarin, Hokkien and Cantonese.
