Leonard’s principal areas of practice are in litigation, arbitration and dispute resolution, handling complex commercial, civil and general matters. He also does advisory and transactional work for corporate and intellectual property matters.
He has successfully assisted a government statutory body in obtaining an injunction against a company and director. He is also currently assisting in several prosecutorial and adjudicatorial matters for various medical/professional bodies.
He appreciates the importance of finding pragmatic legal solutions for his clients, and believes in working efficiently and intelligently to minimise costs and maximise results.
During his time in law school, Leonard won the Jenny Lau Prize for being the top student in International Environmental Law & Policy. He enjoys the thrill of advocating in a trial and was a semi-finalist for the Advocacy Cup, Singapore’s national cross-examination competition.
He believes that mediation can at times be a suitable avenue for dispute resolution, and has published a paper titled “Settlement Rates and the Pressure to Settle” in the publication Contemporary Issues in Mediation (Volume 3).
Outside of work, Leonard enjoys sports and the great outdoors. He also enjoys reading books and watching films, seeing them as useful means to better understand the complexities of people, society and the world. He is a committed member of his church.
“But let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream!”
