FAMILY & MATRIMONIAL

Pre and Post Nuptial Agreements
We are able to advise on and draft pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements and assist you on your wealth planning and preservation of assets in the context of marriage.

Adoption
Adoption is a legal process that entails a court order that will validate a new legal parent-child relationship and cut off ties with the child’s biological parents. We have a dedicated team on hand to advise and guide you on adoption criteria and procedures as well as arrange for registration of mandatory Pre-Adoption Briefing and represent you at court hearings.

Separation and Divorce
We have experience in advising clients on issues involving judicial separation, divorce, custody, care and control, maintenance as well as on financial and ancillary relief proceedings.

Family Violence
If you or your loved ones have suffered family violence, we can give you legal advice and assist to apply for Personal Protection Order (PPO), Expedited Order, Domestic Exclusion Order or Counselling Order through avenues provided under the Family Justice Courts.

ESTATE PLANNING

Wills, Probate/Letters of Administration
Our lawyers advise local and foreign individuals on matters such as estate planning, wills and probate issues. Our global network allows us to work with lawyers from foreign jurisdictions when our clients’ assets are located internationally. We have also represented families, executors, administrators, trustees and beneficiaries in both contentious and non-contentious probate, trust and estate matters.

MENTAL CAPACITY

Lasting Power of Attorney
One can lose mental capacity due to various reasons. In order to ensure that your affairs are managed with minimal disruptions or delay, our experienced team is able assist you to execute a Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA). A Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) is a legal document which gives you the power to voluntarily appoint one or more person(s) to make decisions and act on your behalf should you lose mental capacity one day.

Appointment of Deputy
If any person did not execute a Lasting Power of Attorney prior to losing mental capacity, family members or loved ones are able to apply to Court for a Deputy to be appointed to manage their affairs. Our dedicated team is able to assist with the preparation and filing of an application in Court as well as attend court hearings.
